San Bernardino, California. A city that builds fighters. A city that builds grinders. And in the mid-2000s, a city that was building one of the most electrifying girls basketball players the San Andreas League had ever seen.
Jasmine Marshall wore the Arroyo Valley Hawks uniform with a level of skill and intensity that made coaches, scouts, and opponents take notice from the moment she stepped on the floor. A natural guard with court vision, quick hands, and a scoring ability that was rare for her age — she was the standard-bearer of AVHS girls basketball.
By the time her senior season arrived, Jasmine had already cemented herself as one of the most decorated players in Arroyo Valley history. She earned All-Conference honors in the San Andreas League — and then went further, earning 2nd Team All-State recognition in the state of California. That's not a local award. That's being measured against the best in the entire state.
After her high school career, Jasmine didn't stop. She carried her game to San Bernardino Valley College, where she continued to elevate — earning All-Conference and All-State 2nd Team honors at the collegiate level in the 2007–2008 season. That's two levels, two All-State recognitions. That's a legacy.
This is her story. The girl from San Bernardino who became a standout at every level she played. The guard who put AVHS on the map. The player who proved that the Inland Empire produces elite talent — and always has.
