The Story
Stephen Marshall's MVP Season
San Bernardino, California. The 909. Home to grit, determination, and athletes who refuse to accept anything less than excellence. In 2012, Arroyo Valley High School's boys basketball program reached a pinnacle — a moment when one player's vision, talent, and leadership elevated an entire team to legendary status.
Stephen Marshall. Point Guard. Senior. #21. San Andreas League MVP. The architect of championships. The floor general who made everyone around him better. Standing 6'1", Marshall wasn't the biggest player on the court, but his basketball IQ, his court vision, and his unrelenting commitment to winning made him the most impactful.
Under the guidance of Coach Gerry "Sir Jam A Lot" Wright — a man who had lived every level of basketball and chose to come home to San Bernardino to build champions — Stephen Marshall led the Hawks to the highest levels of competitive high school basketball.
This is the story of AVHS MVP 2012. The story of Stephen Marshall's senior season. The season that defined a generation of Hawks basketball. The moment when San Bernardino basketball reached its absolute peak.
